Your new companyHays are delighted to be partnering with a highly reputable organisation based in St Andrews who are looking to appoint an HR Enhancement Lead on a 3 year fixed term contract basis. The organisation is investing in an ambitious multi-year HR and OD enhancement project in support of their Diverse and People strategies and are looking for an experienced HR professional with significant HR transformation experience to work with the Director of HR in leading the project's HR team for the duration of the project and for post project embedding activities.Your new roleThis will involve playing a leading role on both the project board and design authority as the senior representative from HR in partnership with the Director of HR.The role holder will be a key cog in ensuring the organisation moves towards a more modern approach to people management, engaging at all levels to develop and foster a shared vision and roadmap to success.The role holder will partner with the Director of HR and lead service leads across HR and OD to continue to evolve the agreed TOM, to drive the detailed design of new services and ensure a coherent experience across the staff journey.Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Support in engagement with stakeholders, helping to refine and reinforce the project vision and benefits while taking responsibility for championing the changes required and how these will work in practice
  • Work with the project manager and corporate communications to leverage the project's communication plan and strengthen the initiative's brand throughout appropriate digital, social media and in-person channels
  • Work with the HR senior team and colleagues in Planning to set quarterly/annual KPIs aligned to project benefits to help set success parameters and demonstrate progress as the project workstreams iteratively implement enhancements
  • Work with the Director of HR, organisational design and business analysts to validate and refine service design across all aspects of the Target Operating Model, ensuring coherence and quality across services and the project outputs to be delivered across underpinning, people, process, data and technical architecture
  • Work with the project workstreams to design enhancements to the completeness and quality of HR data and ensure alignment with the project's data focused outcomes, whether operational or strategic insight related
  • Work with the Project Manager and workstream leads to ensure the correct expertise from HR and OD departments is in place against agreed timelines and that clear actionable plans are in place and are delivered
  • Work across the project workstreams to ensure all project outputs meet agreed specifications and are coherently designed across the Target Operating Model
  • Work across testing activities for all elements of scope, ensuring end to end HR processes meet the needs of both HR and OD staff, line managers and all staff as agreed

What you'll need to succeed

  • In-depth understanding of modern HR operating models, the roles, processes and technology that underpin these, the dependencies between them andtheir relationship with policy
  • Both leadership and hands-on experience of HR technology specification, procurement, configuration and implementation
  • Able to quickly weigh up presented options for how to design HR services and decide on the tactical and strategic routes forward as appropriate to the content
  • Ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all level of the organisation
  • Expert at managing people and working in a team
