Description

This is an exceptional opportunity to help build and lead a large, high-performing team, in a state-of-the-art, purpose-built facility - shaping operations from the ground up.Driving excellence in the daily Transport operation including people planning, maintaining high levels of productivity and accuracy, implementing safety and compliance standards and demonstrating an innovative approach to improving operational processes. You will:

  • Lead by example, demonstrating company values and fostering a People First culture within the Transport team.
  • Ensure total compliance with Health & Safety, EU Driving Regulations, Working Time Directive, Employment Law, and other relevant legislation, in line with Operator's License obligations.
  • Support the Transport Operations Manager in promoting a "Zero is Possible" safety culture and cascading safety initiatives across the department.
  • Act as the primary liaison between the Transport Department and National/DC Health & Safety Managers.
  • Oversee training and development to ensure the Transport Management and Administration teams are fully competent and compliant with all tasks.
  • Collaborate with Customer Services to deliver exceptional service to clients, while managing resources to meet budgeted productivity levels and financial targets.
  • Prepare and monitor departmental financials, including weekly figures, financial KPIs, and service metrics.
  • Identify and implement improvement plans to optimise team utilisation, productivity, and efficiency.

  • Have strong leadership ability - able to harness the efforts of a large team to deliver challenging targets and develop leaders of the future.
  • Have a good understanding of Lean principles, drive innovation and continuous improvement, communicating and executing change initiatives effectively to ensure buy-in and successful implementation.
  • Have a current or have previously held a CPC
  • Have experience of scheduling systems and outputs such as Paragon.
