Job Description:

Randstad is looking for an experienced and dedicated Best Interests Assessor (BIA) Team Social Worker to join our dynamic team in Darlington. If you are passionate about safeguarding and promoting the rights and welfare of individuals, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive Best Interests Assessments in accordance with the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS).
• Work collaboratively with individuals, families, and other professionals to ensure that assessments are thorough, person-centered, and uphold the individual's rights.
• Develop and implement care plans that promote the best interests of the individual.
• Provide expert advice and support to colleagues and other professionals on issues related to capacity, consent, and DoLS.
• Participate in team meetings, training, and continuous professional development activities.
• Stay updated on relevant legislation, policies, and best practices.

Qualifications:

• Degree in Social Work (or equivalent) and registration with Social Work England.
• Qualification and experience as a Best Interests Assessor.
• Strong understanding of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
