About the Role

Our Secondary School in Darwen is seeking a dedicated and experienced Estates Cluster Supervisor to join our team. This is a key role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our school premises. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of our school estates, ensuring a safe, secure, and well-maintained environment for our students and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Premises Management: Oversee the management and maintenance of the school buildings and grounds.
  • Building Functions: Maintain a sound knowledge of building functions and ensure they are operational.
  • Security: Take responsibility for the security of the school buildings, including an operational understanding of security systems.
  • Repairs and Maintenance: Undertake and oversee repairs, maintenance work, and other manual tasks as needed.
  • Team Management: Manage and organize the work of the maintenance team, ensuring efficient and effective operations.
  • Contract Management: Handle contracts and liaise with contractors to ensure all external services meet the school's standards and requirements.
  • Equipment Use: Utilize commercial site maintenance equipment to maintain the school premises.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Essential Qualifications:OSH Managing Safety or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience:
    • Significant experience in a trade, building, premises, or facilities environment.
    • Proven track record in premises management, building cleaning, or building management.
    • Experience in contract management.
    • Practical experience with building functions and security systems.
    • Willingness to undertake repairs, maintenance work, and manual tasks.
    • Experience managing teams and organizing work.
