REED Education Agency are seeking a Site Supervisor for a Specialist School near the Blackburn area. This role is a full-time position covering 5 days and 30 hrs per week. The role is a new temporary position with a view to go Permanent, starting June 2024. This is a safe and inclusive school where pupils are encouraged to fulfil their true potential

  • Hours: 30 hours per week, full time (30hrs Monday to Friday including opening up and locking up of the School). Actual hours worked during school closure periods are negotiable.

Main Purpose of the Job

The site supervisor is responsible for all aspects of site management, including a wide range of duties connected with the fabric and grounds of the school. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Security: Ensuring the security of the premises by locking and unlocking doors, windows, and gates during term time and school closure periods. Monitoring perimeter fences, security devices, fire appliances, CCTV systems, and alarms.
  2. Maintenance and Repairs: Overseeing day-to-day maintenance, repairs, and cleaning of the school. Advising on redecoration/refurbishment and implementing a rolling programme for improvements.
  3. Health & Safety: Implementing daily health and safety routines on the site. Delegating tasks to outside contractors while ensuring strict adherence to health and safety regulations.
  4. Pre-Planned Maintenance: Carrying out pre-planned maintenance programs and monitoring work requests on the premises.
  5. Grounds Maintenance: Liaising with gardening contractors to maintain the school grounds to a high standard.
  6. Documentation and Records: Keeping accurate records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities.
  7. Collaboration: Working in collaboration with site supervisors across the Trust to ensure best practices.
  8. Promoting Trust Values: Consistently promoting the values of the Trust and demonstrating teamwork.

Qualifications and Skills

  • A high school or college qualification in a relevant field / equivalent is required,   A bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field would be beneficial.
