National Sales Manager

As a National Sales Manager for Crown Paints, you’ll deliver sustainable profitable sales growth within the Contractor/Specification and house builders’ market, in line with the Trade growth strategy, through the management of a nationwide field sales team.

  • Develop and evolving the strategic direction of the channel.
  • Deliver sustainable profitable sales growth and improve profits for Crown Paints.
  • Cultivate leadership throughout the Contractor, Specification, and A&D sales team.
  • Oversee the progress and development of a team consisting of direct reports including boosting team productivity.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and controls.
  • Keep costs within budget & improve cost to sales ratio.
  • Establish productive relationships both within the organization and externally.
  • Collaborate closely and efficiently with sales teams, Marketing, Finance, and other departments to achieve commercial objectives and targets.
  • Convey messages clearly and efficiently to employees and other essential stakeholders.

  • Achieve and exceed margin, ASP, value, and volume sales targets.
  • Deliver sustainable profitable sales growth and maximise profits for Crown Paints.
  • Display enthusiasm about the brands we represent and the quality of service we deliver.
  • Craft compelling narratives and embodying the role of a brand ambassador.
  • Continuously improve performance.
  • Establish exceptional service standards and strive to be the preferred supplier for our customers making it easy to do business with Crown Paints.
  • Empower individuals to solve challenges and develop their development to unlock their full potential.
  • Communicate openly and honestly, using clear and direct language, and addressing challenging discussions head-on.
  • Engage in creative, innovative strategies to further business growth and spearhead new initiatives.
  • Demonstrate genuine concern for the team's welfare and consistently showing support and respect for all individuals the jobholder interacts with.

Qualifications, experience, and skills required for the role:

  • Contractor sector experience including specification.
  • Demonstrated sales management success in a B2B or B2C environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership, team management, and coaching abilities with a large team.
  • Financially astute and profit focused including strong sales and negotiation skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills, coupled with a strong sense of commercial savvy.
  • The capacity to cultivate robust relationships with both internal and external customers.
  • Industry and product knowledge.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills.
  • IT literacy
  • Team player
