Role and Responsibilities:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Work closely with the SENCo and class teachers to support children with special educational needs.
  • Assist in the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs).
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support within the enhanced resource unit.
  • Help create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support students' social and emotional development.
  • Contribute to the preparation of learning materials and classroom activities.
  • Monitor and report on students' progress and behavior.
  • Assist with personal care tasks as required.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with special educational needs is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 3, NVQ Level 3) are advantageous but not essential.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
