Job Title: Senior Residential Support Worker

Location: Derby

Salary: £33,000

Type: Full-time, Permanent

About the Role: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Residential Support Worker to join our team with children with abuse, trauma and other challenging behaviours. This role involves supporting young people in a residential care setting, helping them to overcome challenges and achieve their personal goals. You will be instrumental in creating a safe, nurturing environment that feels like home for our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily care and support to young people, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.
  • Assist with daily living activities such as meal preparation, cleaning, and personal care.
  • Support the development of life skills and encourage educational and recreational activities.
  • Work closely with other professionals such as social workers and healthcare providers to implement personalised care plans.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports on residents’ progress and any incidents.
  • Ensure a safe and secure environment, adhering to all safeguarding and health and safety policies.
  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions to continuously develop professional skills.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Residential childcare or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working in a residential care setting or similar environment.
  • Strong understanding of the challenges faced by children in care and a commitment to positive outcomes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing needs.
  • A compassionate and patient approach with resilience and dedication to the role.

Requirements:

  • Must pass an enhanced DBS check.
  • Full UK driving licence is essential.
