Housing Support Worker Vacancy

An exciting opportunity has arisen within a well-established organisation based in Breckland and South Norfolk for a dynamic Housing Support Worker to join the team in providing person led support to clients living in supported accommodation.

Type: Temporary until the end of March, with possibility of extension

Location: Breckland and South Norfolk

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Shifts: Monday to Friday; 9am – 5pm

Daily duties:

  • Working with a caseload of homeless clients to promote their independence whilst staying in supported accommodation
  • Deliver emotional and life skills based support, assisting service users with day to day tasks
  • Complete support plans and risk assessments with the service users
  • Enforce tenancy conditions in line with procedures including low level anti-social behaviour and rent arrears
  • Offer specialist knowledge and insight into rent arrears helping tenants with budgeting
  • Carry out regular estate inspections
  • Offer advice and assistance to tenants regarding their benefit entitlements
  • Provide support and advice to tenants in relation to issues concerning their tenancies

Essential requirements:

  • An Enhanced DBS from within the last three years or the willingness to obtain one
  • Previous experience supporting vulnerable people in a support setting
  • Experience working with those with complex needs
  • A full UK Driving Licence with access to a car
