Reed Accountancy are working with an independent firm based in Devizes in looking for an experienced Assistant Accountant to join their accounts team. 

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years’ experience, be able to prioritise workloads, demonstrate attention to detail, flexibility and have a proactive and positive approach to work, as well as having the ability to communicate effectively and build good working relationships.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:-

  • Preparing and posting Journals, Accruals and Prepayments.
  • Balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Maintenace of the fixed asset register including additions, disposals and depreciation.
  • Bank reconciliations.
  • Producing Weekly and Monthly reports.
  • Dealing with the administration of client direct debits.
  • Reconciling weekly sales results.
  • Posting and reconciliation of NHS transactions.
  • Preparing BACS payments for submission.
  • Processing of employee travel claims
  • Payroll administration and posting of monthly payroll journal.
  • Supporting the purchase and sales ledger when required.
  • Adhoc tasks and other duties as may be required from time to time.

SPECIFICATIONS:-

  • Must be AAT qualified but not essential 
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Very well organised.
  • Good time management skills.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • High attention to accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage own work load.
  • All round systems and PC skills; experience in using Xero accounting software and Excel are essential.
  • Team worker and personable approach to contribute to a friendly and supportive team culture.
