We are working with a social housing provider to assist them with their search for a Fire Risk Surveyor of a permanent basis.

You will support thework the organisation are doing around health, building safety and compliance made up of committed individuals who form the Fire Safety Team.

The primary focus of the role is on fire safety, responsible for carrying out a number of fire and building safety related activities, such as weekly testing of fire alarms, monthly testing of emergency lighting, general site inspections and audits, fire door inspections, management of fire risk actions arising from fire risk assessments via a cloud-based system and other property related compliance duties.

You will be responsible for a programme of tests, checks and audits across a geographical area

Duties will include: pre-arranged visits to a number of blocks/schemes to complete regular inspections, tests and audits within the common areas, reviewing and addressing fire risk assessments and associated actions, You will act as the first port of call in providing technical support to a variety of stakeholders including customers and colleagues, resolving technical queries and promoting fire safety across the organisation.

For this role, it is essential that you have the ability to drive and hold a full UK driving licence a company vehicle will be provided.

You must have a Higher National Certificate/Diploma in Building Studies / Level 3 Certificate in Fire Safety or equivalent qualification. Membership of the Institute of Fire Safety Managers / Institution of Fire Engineers or an equivalent membership body would be beneficial.

You will have experience of working with and knowledge of the Regulatory Reform Order (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and have the ability to effectively deliver a programme of compliance inspections.

Extensive experience of coordinating the swift completion of any recommendations and actions arising from fire risk assessments is essential, ensuring records and audit trails are maintained/updated to evidence achievement and compliance.
