Upholsterer
We are looking for a skilled Upholsterer to join our clients team. The Upholsterer will be responsible for upholstering and reupholstering furniture, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will have experience in furniture upholstery techniques and a passion for creating finished products that meet customer expectations.
Responsibilities:
- Upholster and reupholster furniture pieces such as sofas, chairs, ottomans, and other upholstery items.
- Attach padding, springs, webbing, and other materials to furniture frames using hand tools and staple guns.
- Repair or replace damaged or worn upholstery materials.
- Inspect finished pieces to ensure they meet quality standards and customer specifications.
- Collaborate with designers, decorators, or clients to select appropriate fabrics and materials for upholstery projects.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, including the proper storage of upholstery materials and tools.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) while working.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Upholsterer or similar role in furniture upholstery.
- Knowledge of different upholstery materials, fabrics, and their characteristics.
- Ability to use hand tools and upholstery equipment effectively and safely.
- Attention to detail and a strong sense of craftsmanship.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Physical stamina and dexterity to handle furniture pieces and upholstery materials.
- Creativity and problem-solving skills to address challenges in upholstery projects.
