Academics Doncaster are seeking to appoint an attendance officer to join our skilled, busy and dedicated pool of staff in a local Doncaster secondary school.

Position: Attendance Officer

Contract: Temporary supply to start ASAP or after the Easter break. 37.5 hours per week Monday-Friday.

Location: Doncaster, South Yorkshire

Salary: £12.80 per hour

This attendance officer role is Monday-Friday starting ASAP or Monday 15th April and includes taking responsibility you will be responsible for monitoring daily attendance and implementation of the school's attendance policy. You will work alongside the pastoral team, headteacher, and the local authority education welfare officer in order to support and improve attendance.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience of working with a variety of people including children and families and will have a passion for improving attendance in order to have a positive impact on pupil outcomes. Experience in an education setting would be desirable but not essential.

Attendance Officer Responsibilities:

  • Administration of student attendance and lesson monitor.
  • Produce attendance charts, statistics and evidence for penalty fines/court cases.
  • General clerical support including typing/word processing, reprographics, filing of reports, letters, minutes of meetings etc. when required.
  • Partake in home visits to monitor student attendance.
  • Maintain excellent communication between parents, school staff and various external agencies.

The post-holder should be aware of and comply with the school's policies and procedures, in particular those relating to child protection, confidentiality, health & safety, GDPR and report any concerns to the appropriate member of the Leadership Team.Benefits: In addition to a competitive salary, we offer:
