Academics Doncaster are seeking to appoint a secondary school site manager to join our skilled, busy and dedicated pool of staff in a local Doncaster secondary school.

Position: Secondary School Site Manager

Contract: Temporary supply to start ASAP after the Easter break

Location: Doncaster, South Yorkshire

Salary: 12.80 per hour

The secondary school site manager role is Monday-Friday starting on Monday 15th April and includes taking responsibility for tending to jobs around the building and school grounds as well as maintenance and security of the school site.

The successful candidate will be required to be flexible, able to commute to Doncaster and possess proven maintenance skills with the ability to deal with issues using own initiative whilst also working well as part of the school team is essential.

You will work alongside another senior site manager and the current hours are 6:00am - 2:30pm or 10:00am - 6:00pm on an alternate basis. Any additional overtime will be arranged accordingly with school.

Secondary School Site Manager Responsibilities:

  • Lock/unlock school buildings and areas.
  • Undertake regular security checks and identify security risks.
  • Operate and respond to alarm systems where appropriate - liaising with appropriate security or surveillance contractors where necessary.
  • Carry out various maintenance duties to ensure the general upkeep and maintenance of the premises e.g. cleaning redecorating, fixing, minor plumbing, basic joinery, waste collection etc.
  • To organise and carry out improvement work e.g. erecting shelves, notice boards.
  • To maintain all playground surfaces and grounds, landscaped areas to a high standard.
  • Be responsible for maintaining records, information and data, producing analysis and reports as required.
  • Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security and confidentiality, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person.
  • Treat all users of the school with courtesy and consideration.
  • Promote and ensure the health and safety of self, pupils, staff & visitors (in accordance with appropriate health & safety legislation) at all times.
  • To undertake any other duties that are commensurate with the post.

The post-holder should be aware of and comply with the school's policies and procedures, in particular those relating to child protection, confidentiality, health & safety, GDPR and report any concerns to the appropriate member of the senior leadership team.
