In this role as a Transport Coordinator, you will play a crucial part in the smooth running of the logistics department within an industrial/manufacturing setting. The position involves overseeing transportation activities, ensuring effective coordination, and maintaining compliance with safety regulations.

Description

  • Coordinate and monitor supply chain operations.
  • Ensure premises, assets and communication ways are used effectively.
  • Utilise logistics IT to optimise procedures.
  • Recruit and coordinate logistics staff (e.g. truck drivers) according to availabilities and requirements.
  • Supervise orders and arrange stocking of raw materials and equipment to ensure they meet needs.
  • Communicate with suppliers, retailers, customers etc. to achieve profitable deals and mutual satisfaction.
  • Prepare accurate reports for upper management.
  • Implement health and safety procedures.

Profile

A successful Transport Coordinator should have:

  • Proven experience as logistics coordinator.
  • Experience in customer service will be appreciated.
  • Ability to work with little supervision and track multiple processes.
  • Strong coordination and organisational skills.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in relevant software (e.g. ERP).
  • Qualification in logistics or relevant field.
