Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist
Full or part-time
Based in Doncaster, South Yorkshire
Neuro Rehab
Main duties:
- To provide specialist support to adult patients/service users including support with alternative and augmentative communication aids.
- To ensure well co-ordinated, integrated care plan for individual patients/service users. 3. To regularly liaise with charitable agencies.
- To write detailed reports to other agencies.
- To be able to manage the emotional consequences of working with clients with psychological, psychiatric and behavioural problems.
- To manage and prioritise a complex speech and language therapy caseload.
- To maintain up to date and accurate case records
- To independently assess, diagnose and treat a wide range of communication disorders for clients with complex speech, language and cognitive disorder, using both standardised assessment and informal assessment protocols.
Requirements:
- HCPC registration
- Experience working with stroke patients, neuro-degenerative conditions and head injury (desirable)
- There will be an element of community working so a car driver is essential. Free parking is available throughout the site.
- Experience of working with neuro rehab patients is essential, and experience of working with patients with dysphagia is desirable.
We can offer full or part time hours, and also some remote working.
