Our client is involved in supplying and subsequently maintaining a wide range of control systems to multiple manufacturing industries. Expansion has been rapid in recent years and they want to capitalise on their existing order levels and high volume of enquiries with the appointment of an additional Internal Technical Sales Engineer. Your role as Internal Technical Sales Engineer will be to manage in-bound customer enquiries and use your technical knowledge of control systems and systems integration, along with sales skills, to provide advice and support on their range of solutions. This could range from a small project to solve a particular problem (where, effectively, you're selling expertise from the design team on a day rate, after scoping out the amount of labour needed) through to being involved on the ground floor with multi-million pound new projects to buy new capital equipment (projects that could take years to come to fruition, and require hundreds of hours of research before even deciding which avenue it is best to take). 

You'll assist colleagues with bids and tenders for new clients from a technical perspective. The emphasis of the work varies depending on the level of technical knowledge needed to sell a particular product or service. Internal Technical Sales Engineers are also a key point of contact for clients and provide both pre and after-sales advice too. You'll liaise regularly with other members of the sales team and colleagues from a range of departments, such as: Design, Production, Purchasing, Quality, Senior Managers.Internal Sales Engineer - Role and Responsibilities - Sales / BDM / Aftersales / Customer Support / Control Systems / Systems Integration / Electrical Engineering / Quotation / Tender / Proposal* Search for new clients who might benefit from company products or services and maximise client potential in designated regions* Develop long-term relationships with clients, through managing and interpreting their requirements* Persuade clients that a product or service best satisfies their needs in terms of quality, price and delivery* Calculate client quotations and administer client accounts* Provide pre-sales technical assistance and product education* Work on after-sales support services and provide technical back up as required* Meet regular sales targets and coordinate sales projects* Support marketing activities by attending trade shows, conferences and other marketing events* Make technical presentations and demonstrate how a product meets client needsInternal Sales Engineer - Skills and Abilities - Sales / BDM / Aftersales / Customer Support / Control Systems / Systems Integration / Electrical Engineering / Quotation / Tender / Proposal* An Electrical, Electronic, Communication or Systems related engineering qualification* Experience within an Engineering environment, with previous exposure to control systems or systems integration projects* A desire to work in salesOur client have an excellent team and wish to recruit the right person to work closely with them and develop. Salary is very competitive and there's a premium put on employee well being and work life balance.
