Manual Turner

Team Jobs is currently recruiting skilled workers for Manual Turner position based in Yeovil.

The role will involve Manual turning of Aerospace Equipment, in accordance with Manufacturing Instructions, Specifications and Customer/Regulator Requirements, working within an empowered team environment to meet delivery requirements and reporting directly to the Team Lead.

Main Responsibilities:

-Manufacturing of parts from start to finish, to aerospace specifications.

-Operator Control of Quality (Stamping to confirm quality of assemblies)

-Delivering work on time and meeting required standards

-Understanding Engineering Drawings

- Working effectively and achieving best results

Qualifications and Experience:

- Engineering Apprenticeship (Desirable but not Essential)

- Knowledge of machining, specifically Manual Turning or relative machining experience

- Knowledge of hand measuring equipment, such as Vernier, Micrometer, Thread and Plug
Gauges

- Working in a Customer-focused environment and achieving targets

- Working and communicate with Designers and Engineers

Pay Rates: From 18.34 - 21.65 per hour

Days

• Mon to Thurs (07:00 to 15:30) & Friday (07:00 to 12:00)

Days/Late Swing Shift

• Days - Monday to Thursday (07:00 to 15:30) & Friday (07:00 to 13:00)
• Lates - Monday to Thursday (15:30 to 00:00)

Skills required:

• Understanding Aerospace practice and the significance of the safety critical work undertaken
• Essential skills in the adherence to Health & Safety standards at all times, teamwork, flexibility and the ability to use initiative.
• This position is subject to meeting the eligibility conditions of Export Control Licenses and Technical Assistant Agreements

MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS: Full BPSS* Screening (*Baseline Personnel Security Standard), including proof of Legal Right to Work, Criminal Records Check, i.e. UK DBS and Drugs Screening.
