Job Summary

Are passionate about playing a critical part in keeping operations running smoothly?

Acting as an internal consultant, you will undertake mechanical design & assessments of both new and existing assets within the operational environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop the long-term strategy for maintenance and replacement, and lead on reliability assessments.
  • Monitor compliance standards in line with legislative requirements and/or best practice, auditing inspections and tests to ensure the required standards are met.
  • Oversee the mechanical inspection regime, reporting on inspection findings, and applying your critical judgement to recommend an efficient programme of maintenance and repairs to be undertaken by external contractors or the in-house Engineering team.
  • Make recommendations for the adoption of innovative approaches to achieve improvements to reliability and sustainability.
  • Support other team members of the in-house Engineering team by reviewing and commenting on design drawings and specifications.
  • Preparing technical guidance for the business, providing support and guidance to both technical and non-technical audiences, to ensure safe use of the assets.

Skills and Qualifications

  • BEng/Meng and Chartered or working towards Chartered/Incorporated Member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers or similar.
  • Comprehensive experience of undertaking mechanical designs and calculations to applicable codes/standards.
  • Strong background liaising with Engineering Consultants, Contractors and Clients.
  • Effective communication to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Understanding of CDM regulations
  • Hold a valid UK driving licence
