We are recruiting for a leading and prestigious Food Service Company based in Downham Market, due to their continued growth and development they are seeking to employ a Prep Room Supervisor to start asap.

On-going role potentially leading to permanent for the right candidate.

To oversee, control and organise the day-to-day operation of the on-site preparation rooms in a safe manner, and in the most cost-effective way.

To ensure that all employees in these areas adhere to company rules relating to the areas. 

Monday - Friday 7am till finish usually 4pm/5pm however, during peak could be longer.

Tasks & responsibilities:

To ensure all products are produced according to the written specifications.

To ensure that the preparation rooms are manned in the most efficient way to carry out the tasks assigned to it and to work with other departments to help ensure the business as a whole runs in the most efficient and cost-effective manner. 

To ensure that all preparation employees comply with all Health and Safety rules and legislation and advising directors or senior managers of deviations from this or potential deviations which may occur.

To ensure that all tasks are carried out according to food safety legislation and company policies regarding food safety and quality and to ensure that the HACCP plan is adhered to at all times.

To liaise with other departments within the business to help ensure that the business is operating in the most efficient manner throughout all of its function.

To assist in the application of the HACCP function of the business so far as it related to prep areas to enable the company to maintain its accreditation status and to comply with current legislation.

To assist with in-house training of staff where required.

To understand carry out and accurately log disciplinary interviews according to company policy and current legislation.

To ensure day to day maintenance of prep room equipment is carried and to flag up breakdowns or potential breakdowns to the relevant person for rectification.    

This list is not exhaustive, and you will be required to undertake any additional tasks, training and/or development activity as directed by the company from time to time to meet the needs of the business.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience required:

Ability to liaise effectively with directors/staff/customers at all levels.

Practical understanding and awareness of operational activities within a food environment and the equipment employed.

Awareness of HR legislation and procedures so far as it relates to the business.

Ability and training to fully understand the need for and workings of HACCP.

Additional information.

Basic food hygiene to level 2

Intermediate food hygiene desirable

HACCP training certificates required.
