We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Care Assistant to join our clients residential care home located in Dronfield. The Senior Care Assistant will be responsible for leading shifts, providing high-quality care and support to our elderly residents in a residential care setting. This role requires compassion, patience, and excellent communication skills.

Post: Senior Care Assistant

  • Hourly Rate: £13.10 (Paid Breaks)
  • Shift times: 7.45am to 8pm
  • Contracted Hours: 36 to 48 per week
  • Specializing in elderly and dementia care

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a team of care assistants, delegating tasks
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Administer medications according to prescribed dosages and schedules.
  • Monitor residents' health and well-being.
  • Assist with meal preparation and feeding, ensuring that dietary requirements are met.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to residents, engaging them in meaningful activities and conversation.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents, including ensuring that all equipment and supplies are properly sanitized and stored.
  • Collaborate with other members of the care team to develop and implement care plans that meet the individual needs of each resident.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working in a senior care or healthcare setting is required.
  • NVQL3 in health and social care certification (preferred).
  • Medication Trained
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead a team of care assistants effectively.
  • Ability to handle challenging situations with empathy and professionalism.
  • Flexibility to work shifts 12-hour shifts, alternate weekends, and holidays.
