About the Organisation

We are a leading healthcare charity committed to delivering high-quality care and improving lives across the UK. With a national presence and a dedicated leadership team, we are now seeking a highly experienced Senior Recruiter to lead on the recruitment of executive and senior leadership roles across our organisation.

The Role

The Senior Recruiter, Executive & Senior Appointments will play a key strategic role in sourcing, engaging, and appointing high-calibre leaders across the charity. This individual will work closely with the Board, Executive Leadership Team (ELT), and senior stakeholders to ensure the recruitment strategy aligns with the organisation’s mission, values, and future direction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage end-to-end recruitment processes for Executive, Board-level, and senior leadership appointments across the organisation.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders including Executive Directors, Trustees, and HR Business Partners.
  • Advise and influence senior stakeholders on recruitment strategy, market insights, and selection methodology.
  • Develop attraction strategies to engage exceptional talent, including direct sourcing, executive search, and third-party partnerships when required.
  • Oversee candidate experience to ensure a professional, inclusive, and engaging recruitment journey.
  • Support with succession planning and talent pipelining for key leadership roles.
  • Provide guidance and oversight on inclusive recruitment practices, ensuring equity and diversity are embedded at every stage.
  • Work collaboratively with the broader People & Culture team to align recruitment activities with wider organisational goals.

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Proven experience recruiting at Board, Executive, or senior leadership level, ideally within the care sector, healthcare, charity, or public sector.
  • Demonstrable experience in building and delivering recruitment strategies for hard-to-fill and mission-critical roles.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at the most senior levels.
  • Excellent sourcing skills, including proactive headhunting and use of executive search techniques.
  • Knowledge and commitment to inclusive recruitment practices.
  • High levels of professionalism, discretion, and sound judgement.
  • Comfortable working remotely and independently with occasional travel to offices in Manchester or London (once per week).

Desirable

  • Previous in-house recruitment experience within a large, complex, or regulated environment.
  • Understanding of governance and recruitment into regulated roles (e.g., CQC-registered positions, Trustees, etc.).
