As part of its continued strategic growth, the firm is seeking a talented Private Client Associate (3-5 PQE) to join its respected team. This is an exciting opportunity for a mid-level solicitor to take the next step in their career, working on a broad caseload and supporting the department's ongoing development.

Role OverviewThis position is ideal for a private client solicitor with 3-5 years of post-qualification experience who is confident managing their own matters while also contributing to team initiatives. You will be part of a supportive, collegiate department with a well-established client base and real opportunities for progression.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handling a broad caseload of private client matters, including:
    • Drafting wills to suit a variety of personal and family circumstances
    • Preparing and registering Lasting Powers of Attorney
    • Advising on and administering estates, from initial instruction through to final distribution
    • Advising on trusts and estate planning, including inheritance tax mitigation
    • Providing guidance to clients on lifetime gifting, asset protection, and succession planning
    • Dealing with probate matters, often involving complex family or asset structures
  • Client Management: Delivering high standards of client care with a personal, professional, and sensitive approach
  • Compliance: Ensuring all work is conducted in accordance with current legislation and SRA regulations
  • Team Support: Collaborating with senior solicitors and supporting junior staff as needed
  • Practice Growth: Actively participating in business development, networking, and marketing to build relationships and attract new clients

Person Specification

  • 3-5 years PQE as a solicitor with solid experience in private client law
  • Comfortable managing a varied caseload independently, with minimal supervision
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a client-focused and empathetic approach
  • Sound technical knowledge of wills, probate, trusts, inheritance tax, and LPAs
  • Commercially aware and proactive in identifying opportunities to develop the practice
  • STEP qualification or progress towards it is desirable, but not essential
