Various locations across the South West

Our well-established, family-owned client is looking to recruit experienced HGV Technicians to join their friendly teams based in various locations across the South West.

The ideal candidate would have previous experience and qualifications in HGV repair. The role is to carry out all aspects of service, repair and maintenance work on all commercial vehicles that are booked into the workshop. You will liaise with the Workshop Controller and Service Team to ensure the best customer service for our Clients.

This will enable them to support their customers, providing better coverage and flexibility and enhancing the service they offer.

Qualified HGV TechnicianDuties will include:

  • Vehicle inspection
  • General servicing
  • Fault diagnosis
  • Repair of vehicle defects
  • Road test vehicles
  • MOT preparation/presentation.
  • Breakdown/roadside assistance and call out duty required.
  • Completion of all required paperwork accurately

The successful candidate will:

  • Be a qualified HGV Technician (City & Guilds / NVQ Level Three or equivalent).
  • Have previous relevant experience gained in a similar industry.
  • Have a full driving licence, ideally include HGV Licence

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Servicing vehicles - carrying out checks and maintenance according to the manufacturer’s guidelines.
  • Repairing and replacing faulty parts and components.
  • Advising the Service Receptionists about required repairs.
  • Producing time estimates.
  • Maintaining repair and service records.

Our Client has various working hours including a day and night shift.

Person Specification:

You will ideally have a working experience of Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and be qualified to City and Guilds Level 3 or equivalent. A HGV Driving Licence is not a necessity but an advantage.
