Warehouse / Logistics Operative : Our client requires an experienced Warehouse/Logistics Operative to join their team on a temp to perm basis Logistics:
  • Picking orders based on picking lists
  • Creating consignments for shipment via couriers or by Company personnel
  • Performing stock counts
  • Keeping the warehouse clean and maintaining good order
  • Receiving goods and checking products against delivery notes to ensure complete orders are
  • Delivery of replacement luggage to airport locations using Company vehicles
  • After appropriate training, forklift
  • After appropriate training, assessment of received luggage for repair/replacement (aviation claims)
  • Ensuring that the Company remains compliant with all data protection legislation through appropriate action and decision
  • Ad hoc, but reasonable, requests from supervisors, management, or clients
  • Identification of and reporting of low-stock items, conveying the information to the Warehouse Supervisor
  • Adapting to the peaks and troughs of the airline influenced operations to take advantage of natural ‘lulls’ to perform housekeeping duties.
  • Reporting of Service Failures
  • To provide an accurate report on any service failure by a supplier to the line manager
  • Discussing replacement luggage requirements with airline / handling agent Baggage Services teams at the airport during delivery, influencing requirements in accordance with current stock holding
  • Supervision of onsite behaviour of the supplier
  • Maintaining the security of the warehouse by challenging non-employees
  • Fluent or native written and spoken English – essential.
  • Basic MS Office skills - desirable
  • Full, clean driving licence
  • Must qualify for an Airport Airside ID (complete 5-year referencing, including criminal record check)
  • Team player with excellent verbal skills and a keen eye for detail
  • Able to work under pressure.
  • Adaptable and resilient
  • Physically fit and able to perform manual lifting.
Warehouse experience
  • CLEAN driving licence (i.e. no endorsements/convictions as this affects our insurance) and over 25 years of age (requirements for the insurance on the company van).  Note: We do daily deliveries to Heathrow airport and weekly deliveries to Gatwick and into central London hence the requirement for a driving licence. Previous driving experience in a van would also be beneficial, especially in London.
  • Background check - (criminal record check (basic disclosure) will be required for the candidate to obtain an Airport ID to work unescorted in a security-restricted area at the airport to perform our deliveries.   
  • Forklift qualifications would be an advantage but not essential.
  • Hours: Mon- Fri 0800-1630 (8.5 hr days but flexibility required when we have a container delivery etc)
  • Lunch 30 mins and 2 x 10 mins breaks
  • 20 days holiday plus bank holidays
