PE Cover Supervisor

I am currently working with a school based in Durham who are currently hiring cover supervisors for PE for long term contracts.

The Role

• To supervise whole classes
• Working with KS3/KS4
• The Cover Supervisor will give instructions for the lesson as provided by the teacher
• Primary focus of the role will be to maintain good order and keep pupils on task
• Response to general questions
• Provide feedback to teachers
• Supervise pupils engaged in learning activities
• Act as a role model and set high expectations of conduct and behaviour
• Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils in the lesson
• Deal with any problems or emergencies according to the schools policies and procedures
• Provide objective and accurate feedback to the teacher on the conduct of the lesson
• Keep appropriate records as agreed with the teacher
• Provide administrative support to the department where required
• Support the department with organising and leading sports fixtures and trips where required
• Support department in the management of sports equipment

The Candidate

• Must be confident and comfortable working with students
• DBS on update service is not essential, if not we can apply for one for you and then can be uploaded to the service
• Must have sports coaching background
• Relate well to students
• Good at building rapports
• Right to Work in the IK
• Good communication skills
• Will have the ability to develop and maintain a productive learning environment and have good behaviour management skills
