Connected Carers Social Worker

About the Role:
We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Social Worker to join our Connected Carers team in Durham. This role involves providing support and guidance to connected carers, including relatives and friends, who are caring for children who cannot live with their birth parents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting assessments of connected carers to determine suitability for caring for children.
  • Providing support, advice, and guidance to connected carers throughout the fostering process.
  • Developing and reviewing care plans in collaboration with connected carers, children, and other professionals involved.
  • Offering practical and emotional support to connected carers to enhance their capacity to meet the needs of the children in their care.
  • Liaising with local authorities, fostering agencies, and other relevant organizations to coordinate support and services for connected carers and children.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker with registration .
  • Experience working within children's services, preferably in a fostering or connected carers context.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with connected carers and children.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to fostering and children's services.
