Production Worker - CNC Turner
Location: Yeovil
Contract: 6-Month Fixed Term
Hours: Full Time, 37 Hours per Week (8-Hour Shifts)
Pay Rate: 17.52 per Hour
Job Overview:
Manpower is seeking skilled Production Workers to join our client's team in Yeovil for an initial 6-month fixed-term contract. As part of an established team, you will be responsible for the CNC turning of aerospace equipment, adhering to manufacturing instructions and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform centre lathe turning to manufacture parts from start to finish, ensuring compliance with aerospace specifications.
- Operate 2-axis lathes for bespoke work.
- Conduct OCQ (Operator Control of Quality) by stamping finished products to confirm quality standards.
- Interpret engineering drawings and follow process layouts and documentation procedures.
- Ensure on-time delivery by completing work to the required standards within set timelines.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Knowledge of CNC and Manual Turning or relevant machining experience.
- Proficiency in using hand measuring equipment such as Vernier calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, and plug gauges.
- Understanding of aerospace practices and the importance of safety-critical work.
- High standard of health and safety awareness.
Skills and Attributes:
- Customer-focused with the ability to work in a high-standard environment.
- PC literate.
- Willingness to undergo additional training (PC skills, Manual Handling, Abrasive Wheels, 5S, HOS Principles, and general Health & Safety).
Mandatory Requirements:
Successful completion of Full BPSS Screening, including proof of the legal right to work, a criminal records check (UK DBS), and drugs screening.
