I have partnered with an exciting Not for Profit Organisation who are recruiting a Finance Manager for a Temporary 3 Month Assignment in East Grinstead.

Description

    • This is a key role in the financial services team and wider finance department, it will provide accounting support and expertise to all areas falling within its remit.
    • You will be responsible for managing 2 Trainee Assistant Accountants
    • The key deliverables of this role are : Capital Accounting, Charity Accounting, Control Accounts & Balance Sheet reconciliations, Financial Control and Governance, Treasury management
    • Working with the Head of Service and others to support and maintain a robust financial control environment within the organisation
    • Work with the Head of Financial Services and Senior Finance managers to support the financial strategy and policy including short, medium and long term financial plans for the finance department
    • To prepare various performance, planning and management reports for all areas of financial accounts (including capital, charity & cash).
    • Interpret and understand the impact of changes to standards and guidance, ensuring that this is adequately communicated across all interested stakeholders and that the financial impact of any changes is acknowledged and understood
    • To prepare of monthly and annual returns for the associated charity, ensuring that all inputs are accurate, robust and to a high standard, within accepting accounting standards to support and ensure and unqualified audit opinion and to meet the requirements and timetables of the Charity Commission.
    • Ensuring that the Agreement of Balances exercise is efficiently planned and managed across the Financial Accounts, Income and Financial management teams to minimise year end disputes and audit queries.
    • To respond to audit recommendations, ensuring that a culture of continuous professional improvement is embedded in the production of financial reports.

Profile

  • Working knowledge of accounting issues and recent developments.
  • Experience of working with External Audit Providers and preparing Working papers
  • Monitoring and Managing Capital Performance for an Organisation
  • Full understanding of the Importance of a robust financial control environment
  • Working knowledge of VAT
  • Good Understanding of Control Accounts, including Debtors, Creditors and Bank Reconciliations.
  • Proficient use of all Microsoft Office software, with advanced Excel Skills
  • Professional and Positive Attitude
  • Adaptable and quick to learn new skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Able to calmly deal with difficult situations an people
  • May be working towards an accountancy degree
