Contracts Manager (Small/Medium Works/Contracts) 
Purpose of the role 
To contribute and integrate with the Company’s objectives and business plans. Ensure compliance with current standards and practices within the Electrical Industry. To independently manage works within the section. Duties will consist of the following areas: 
  • Council Portfolio (90%) - Reactive Works, Installation works, Emergency Lighting and Remedials, EICRs and remedials and Small and Medium size Projects
  • Commercial Clients (10%) - Reactive Works, Installation works (Small to medium), EICRs and remedials
  • EICR Remedials other (10%) 
About you 
You will be a fully qualified (to 18th Edition) electrician with a professional and friendly approach to dealing with clients and colleagues. You may have office experience or looking for the next stage in your career.
  • Qualified Electrician as standard with City & Guilds 2391.
  • Updated to 18th Edition.
  • BS 2394 and BS 2395 Testing & Installation qualified essential.
  • Committed to building an effective team, strong communicator, with the ability to relate well to others. 
  • A ‘Peoples Person’ who is able to communicate well with new people and in different situations. 
  • NICEIC Qualifying Supervisor status, or ability to meet criteria to gain the status.
  • You will have proven organisational skills, with the ability to project plan effectively. 
  • You are a competent user of IT, with a willingness to utilise new software. 
  • Full, clean or near clean, UK driver’s license. 
  • Competent writer of quotations and proposals. 
  • Ability to manage resources effectively to achieve the delivery of projects to time and within budget

G M Monk Ltd is an electrical contractors’ firm, based in Eastbourne with a Brighton satellite office. We have been established for over 40 years and offer a range of electrical services to businesses, local authorities, schools, colleges, academies, housing associations and individuals across Sussex and Kent. We currently employ 57 staff to support our operations, including 17 office-based staff. We offer a friendly and supportive environment in which our staff thrive and feel valued.

We are looking for a candidate that can work within a team environment on our council MTC contracts that run compliance & responsive works, alongside medium sized lighting and power projects. 

The candidate is required to have previous experience as a Contracts Manager or Contracts Supervisor and who wishes to develop their career with us. The role will be supported by an existing Contracts Administrator already working on the contracts who will deal with the day-to-day bookings, reactive and compliance invoices and general administration on the contracts and liaison with the client.
