A manufacturer of electro-mechanical components is experiencing a continued period of growth. As a result, they are now seeking a Health, Safety and Environmental Advisor to join their existing team of 3 professionals.

Reporting directly to the HSE Manager, you will receive ongoing internal and external training, to enhance your skills and knowledge in hope of providing you with a long-term career with this business. You will be tasked with ensuring HSE standards are promoted and improved upon in order to cope with the increase in output from this large SME business.

HSE Advisor Responsibilities:

  • Conducting new risk assessments for processes and review and update existing ones.
  • To provide expert, professional health and safety advice, guidance, and support to all interested parties.
  • To support the company in ensuring compliance with all relevant legislative and other requirements inclusive of ISO certified HSE Management Systems.
  • Work in collaboration with operational departments to ensure all activities have been adequately risk assessed, with safe systems of work been agreed, communicated, and understood.
  • Support operational departments in ensuring COSHH compliance including the maintenance of the company COSHH register.
  • Assist with and/or complete regular formal safety inspections and internal audits as required across all depots and field-based operations.
  • Manage and maintain relevant documentation including training files, skills matrix's, audit reports, accident reports, etc.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • 1-4 years in a similar role, such as Health and Safety Advisor, H&S Officer or HSE Officer
  • A good understanding of COSHH and GHS
  • Strong communicator and the ability to positively influence others.
  • Previous experience of working in a manufacturing or warehouse environment
