The role – Infrastructure Analyst

The salary - £35,000 - £39,000

The location – Edinburgh

I’m working with a fantastic organisation who are leading innovation and development within their area to add an Infrastructure Analyst to their team. The successful candidate will specialise in both Windows and Linux infrastructure and will play an important role in managing and developing the organisations research systems and related technologies.

Your day-to-day:

  • You’ll be the lead for all things Linux and research systems for the organisation, playing an important role to design, deploy and manage critical business systems.
  • Ensure the delivery of core and research infrastructure, ensuring all are operational.
  • Troubleshoot any issues to ensure systems are operationally functional.
  • Provide guidance on systems and applications across the organisation.
  • Ensure systems and designed and deployed to meet the expected standards, taking into account the organisations current infrastructure and security needs.
  • Monitor and patch systems to ensure ongoing reliability.
  • Continuously review systems to detect areas of improvement, providing recommendations and implementing solutions.

About you:

  • You’ll have extensive knowledge in Linux servers and open-source technologies, as well as with Windows servers.
  • Experience in IT support roles and the ability to tailor technical support to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with Active Directory and Hyper-V.
  • Hands on experience with containerisation technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with Azure cloud and other cloud technologies.
  • Experience managing projects is beneficial.
