The impact of vision loss is huge. But with the right support, people with vision loss can gain the skills to remain independent and active in their communities - to thrive. That's why we're here.
For 230 years, Sight Scotland and Sight Scotland Veterans has been supporting people impacted by vision loss. We believe we play an important role in continually shifting the conversation around sight loss, and contributing to achieving a fair, equitable society. Over the years, we've seen a positive shift in expectations, with individuals and communities increasingly empowered to live lives the way they choose, free of discrimination.
Reporting to the Head of Technology Change, this role will deliver successful digital transformation across Sight Scotland and Sight Scotland Veterans. You will be responsible for analysing organisational needs, designing effective technology solutions, and ensuring these solutions align with the Charities' strategic goals. In this role, you'll work closely with internal stakeholders to understand their needs through workshops, interviews, and process mapping, translating these insights into clear, prioritised requirements. You'll design secure, accessible, and operationally viable solutions in collaboration with the Head of Technology Change, external partners, and IT Operations-ensuring alignment from concept through to implementation. A strong focus on accessibility, security, and stakeholder engagement is essential, as is the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly to non-technical audiences. You'll also contribute to continuous improvement by monitoring solution performance and staying up to date with emerging technologies to drive innovation.
We're seeking a skilled Solutions Designer with strong analytical abilities and a track record of gathering and prioritising complex organisational requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience designing effective, scalable technology solutions that integrate seamlessly with existing systems and network architecture. Proficiency with tools for process mapping, requirements documentation, and prototyping is essential, along with a solid understanding of accessibility standards, inclusive design, and security best practices. You'll need excellent communication skills to engage stakeholders and translate technical concepts into clear, actionable insights. A proactive mindset and curiosity for emerging technologies and industry trends are key, as you'll play a critical role in recommending innovations that improve service delivery and create lasting organisational value.
Applications in the form of a tailored CV and covering letter, highlighting your skills and experience pertinent to the role, should arrive no later than midnight Sunday 1st June
