Description

Drafting and preparing wills, powers of attorney, and related legal documents

Assisting in the administration of executries (Scottish probate), including preparing inventories, inheritance tax forms, and court documentation

Liaising with clients, beneficiaries, HMRC, banks, and other third parties
-
Supporting with the management and administration of trusts
-
Conducting legal research and keeping abreast of changes in private client law and tax regulations
-
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date client files and records
-
Ensuring compliance with Law Society of Scotland regulations and internal risk procedures

Providing general administrative support to fee earners within the Private Client department
Profile
-
Familiarity with Scottish wills, executries, and succession law
-
Strong understanding of inheritance tax and estate administration processes
-
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
-
High level of discretion, integrity, and empathy
-
Ability to manage multiple matters efficiently and meet deadlines
-
Proficiency in case management systems and Microsoft Office
-
A paralegal qualification or relevant legal degree is advantageous
