Our client is looking for a Private Client Paralegal

Description

  • Drafting and preparing wills, powers of attorney, and related legal documents

  • Assisting in the administration of executries (Scottish probate), including preparing inventories, inheritance tax forms, and court documentation

  • Liaising with clients, beneficiaries, HMRC, banks, and other third parties

  • Supporting with the management and administration of trusts

  • Conducting legal research and keeping abreast of changes in private client law and tax regulations

  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date client files and records

  • Ensuring compliance with Law Society of Scotland regulations and internal risk procedures

  • Providing general administrative support to fee earners within the Private Client department

Profile

  • Familiarity with Scottish wills, executries, and succession law

  • Strong understanding of inheritance tax and estate administration processes

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • High level of discretion, integrity, and empathy

  • Ability to manage multiple matters efficiently and meet deadlines

  • Proficiency in case management systems and Microsoft Office

  • A paralegal qualification or relevant legal degree is advantageous
