Training Coordinator
Location : Elland
Working Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30AM - 5PM
Salary: Between £28,000 and £30,000 per annum, depending on experience
Overall Purpose
To ensure that factory teams (Production, Hygiene, Warehouse) maintain compliance training in line with required standards, and that EQMS training records are kept up to date for each individual. Responsible for maintaining agreed training standards through regular monitoring and process confirmation.
General Attainment / Training Required
- Successful completion and appraisal of probationary period
- Completion of all core training and core procedures
- Chemical Awareness / COSHH Training
- Advanced Food Hygiene
- Understanding of all relevant site/area policies, procedures, and practices (including customer-specific codes of practice)
Job-Related Experience, Knowledge, and Skills
- Previous experience in FMCG manufacturing operations (preferably food-related)
- Experience in training, coaching, and mentoring
- Knowledge of site training standards related to HSE and Food Safety compliance
- Strong internal and external communication skills
- Ability to develop others’ knowledge in key areas
- Confidence to challenge poor training standards and practices
- Ability to organise and manage workload across all shifts
- Ability to manage multiple training initiatives simultaneously
- Ownership and resolution of issues through advice and guidance
- Strong literacy and numerical skills
- Proficient IT skills (Excel, databases, presentations)
- Ability to produce detailed written reports

Role and Responsibilities
Training Coordination
- Manage the training process for new starters, including setting up profiles on EQMS and ensuring training is scheduled and recorded accurately
- Schedule regular meetings with managers to plan upcoming training and projects
- Monitor and challenge trainee progress through observation and feedback from line leaders
- Ensure all employees receive relevant training and act as first-line support for managers and employees
- Promote available training opportunities via email, newsletters, digital screens, or other methods
- Gather feedback from trainees after sessions
- Support managers and team leaders with training issues, providing one-on-one or group support as needed
- Conduct and record routine process confirmations for training compliance (weekly)
- Ensure essential training remains up to date across the site:
- Chemical Awareness
- Basic Food Hygiene Level 2 and Level 3
- Induction Refresher
Training Records - EQMS
- Ensure required compliance training is completed on time and that EQMS records are accurate and current
- Maintain and update the EQMS training system
- Input training data accurately and on time
- Conduct regular database checks (new starters, leavers, role changes, courses)
- Amend and update EQMS training matrices to reflect business changes
- Carry out organisation-wide training needs assessments and identify knowledge or skill gaps
Training Administration
- Coordinate training logistics, including booking courses, assessments, and maintaining records
- Design, develop, and administer tailored training programs (outsourced or in-house)
- Coordinate internal training sessions and seminars
- Administer third-party training platforms
- Organise and deliver individual and group inductions for new employees
- Prepare regular reports on training performance for management
- Stay up to date with new training methods and best practices
- Assess training effectiveness and impact on skills and KPIs
- Perform other duties as required by management
Learning and Development
- Assist management and HR in overseeing professional development activities
- Support annual training planning for all employees (including PDPs, objective setting, compliance tracking)
- Maintain and develop training and development policies and procedures, ensuring accessibility and clear communication
- Collaborate with managers and HR to select suitable training methods (on-the-job, professional development)
- Promote and maintain a safe working environment at all times
