Are you a passionate and dedicated teacher with a deep understanding of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges?

Our inspiring SEMH School in Enfield is a nurturing and supportive environment where every student is given the opportunity to thrive. We cater to students aged 11 18, with social, emotional and mental health needs. Our goal is to provide a holistic approach to education, focusing on the individual needs of each student to help them achieve their full potential.

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate SEN/SEMH Teacher who can deliver tailored and engaging lessons to students in KS2 and KS3. You will teach some Maths and English and also pick up some PSHE lessons. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in working with students who have SEMH needs and an understanding of trauma, attachment and mental health needs.

As an SEMH Teacher, you should be adept at creating a safe, inclusive, engaging and supportive classroom environment where all students
are inspired and motivated to obtain meaningful outcomes, raise achievement levels and improve self-esteem. You will engage students with exciting lessons, fostering their abilities and contributing to their academic development within a calm, fun and purposeful environment.

This is a great opportunity for a passionate SEN/SEMH Teacher to support and challenge SEMH students, encouraging them to go beyond their personal limitations and self-beliefs.

Role and Responsibilities SEMH Teacher

Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons to students in KS2 and KS3, including Maths and English, and some PSHE.

Develop and implement individualized learning plans that cater to the unique needs of each student.

Utilize a trauma-informed approach to teaching, ensuring a safe and supportive classroom environment.

Work closely with the school's multidisciplinary team to provide holistic support for students.

Inspire a love of learning for students, through fun and engaging, yet nurturing learning environments.

Foster a positive and inclusive classroom culture that promotes social and emotional development.

Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback and support.

Engage with parents and carers to build strong home-school partnerships.


Qualifications and Experience SEMH English Teacher

UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - essential

Proven experience teaching KS2 / KS3

Experience working with students with SEMH, SEND, and an understanding of trauma and attachment.

Strong knowledge of social, emotional, and mental health approaches to teaching and learning.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

A compassionate, patient, and resilient nature.

Adaptable approach to teaching and learning.

Passion for supporting those with SEMH and SEND.

Ability to make lessons fun, engaging and inspiring.

Good classroom management skills.
