Commissioning Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Commissioning Engineer to join our well-established London based client. Based out of their HQ, you will be working on various projects, with some travel involved.

This role involves working on heavy industrial projects, with diesel generators, so both LV and HV experience is preferred. Relevant experience working with diesel generators is essential for this position, so applications from candidates without this experience cannot be considered.

Duties include:

  • To take responsibility for the accurate layout and wiring of control systems, based on technical diagrams and multi meter readings.
  • Checking all components purchased are in line with the specification of the wiring diagram, spotting any anomalies in order to pre-empt issues.
  • Assist colleagues in the installation of diesel generators including secondary systems.
  • To take responsibility for commissioning new generators for high end projects.
  • Carrying out load bank tests and reporting the results to clients.
  • Be the point of contact for generator and controller knowledge.
  • Any other duties required.

The successful candidate will have / be:

  • Qualifications relating to standby generator engineering.
  • Knowledge of diesel generators and engines.
  • Understanding or experience using PLC systems.
  • Experience working with HV systems.
  • Experience with multiple controllers (Woodward, ComAp and Deepsea)
  • Able to confidently troubleshoot and fault find within the diesel generators and engines.
  • Experienced in reading wiring diagrams.
  • Experience in using a multi-meter.
  • Knowledge and experience in the set up and commissioning of diesel generators and engines.
  • Flexible with working days and hours
  • A strong communicator
