Finance Manager
Exeter, Devon
£45,000 - £50,000 + Bonus + Generous Pension

Our client, a leading local organisation based on the outskirts of Exeter, are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join and manage their established finance team on a full-time, permanent basis.

As the Finance Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of the finance department, manage financial reporting and control, and collaborate with the wider management team on finance business partnering.

The responsibilities:

  • Lead and coach the finance team: set objectives, manage workload, drive projects, and oversee transactional processing.
  • Enhance monthly financial and business performance reporting: management accounts, variance analysis, and performance understanding.
  • Partner with senior leadership and budget owners: support decision-making, establish collaborative relationships, and develop financial management skills.
  • Prepare business budgets and forecasts: annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, cash-flow forecasting, and management.
  • Improve financial control framework and processes: month-end procedures, balance sheet reconciliations, and policy compliance.
  • Collaborate with group colleagues: regular reporting, payroll, policy implementation, and manage group-wide projects.
  • Lead statutory audit process and manage tax compliance: VAT and corporation tax.

The candidate:

  • Skilled finance professional, ideally CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified, or with relevant experience.
  • Consistently delivers results, effectively prioritises and delegates tasks, and ensures high-quality outputs.
  • Demonstrates commercial acumen, strong communication skills, and a passion for data analysis.
  • Highly motivated, solutions-oriented, and experienced in change management and finance projects.
  • Confident, organised, with high integrity, and proficient in Excel and ERP systems.
