Are you passionate about supporting students during their journey in education and making a positive difference in their lives? Long Term Teachers is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant for a large community primary school we work closely with on the edge of Exeter.

The school has the opportunity for a Teaching Assistant to initially cover a materity position, with the potential for the role to become permanet for the right candidate. The Primary operates at the heart of the community, offering aspirational learning and opportunities to trasnform the lives of its pupils.

Position: Teaching AssistantLocation: Exeter, DevonContract: Full-time and/or part-time

Requirements:

  • Experience working with primary aged children
  • Understanding of different SEN needs and strategies for support
  • Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and other support staff

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students
  • Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behavior plans
  • Support students with their academic, social, and emotional development
  • Help create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to meet the individual needs of students
