Children's Advanced Social Worker – Phoenix House

Our Client, a South West Local Authority, is seeking a Children's Advanced Social Worker to join its Children and Families Team based out of Phoenix House EX16 6SA.  

Fantastic payrate of £46 per hour ***Including a weekly accommodation/commuter travel allowance of up to £150 per week for those living 50 miles or more from their work base***

Responsibilities of this role:

  • Working as an Advanced Social Worker you will work closely with your Team Manager, you will provide professional leadership and supervision to colleagues within your team, supporting your manager with the day-to-day operations and contributing to an effective and efficient service to the Children & Families Team.
  • This is a hands-on role, where you have a smaller caseload, working with children and families with a complexity of needs (including undertaking in-depth assessments) and where, through supervision and mentoring, you will share your knowledge and experience with colleagues and students to continually improve practice standards within your team.
  • You will champion high standards of professional social work practice, by encouraging and supporting opportunities for reflection and learning and delivering on-the-job training, coaching and mentoring to unqualified/alternatively qualified staff, students and less experienced social workers.

Requirements of this role:

  • Must be a Qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England.
  • Demonstrable ability to work with families with complex needs within a multi-agency environment.
  • Be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience of social work mentoring, coaching and training professional colleagues.
  • Must be able to commit to being on site 2 days a week (the accommodation/commuter travel allowance of up to £150 per week can be utilised for the purposes of this.)
