Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo)Location: SuffolkJob Type: Full-time

We are a vibrant and inclusive educational institution committed to delivering exceptional learning experiences for all students. We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated SENCo to ensure that children with disabilities and special educational needs receive the support they need to succeed.

Day to day of the role:

  • Align school policies with the latest governmental SEN policies and regulations.
  • Equip teachers with the necessary skills to implement SEN policies effectively and provide high-quality education to children with special learning requirements.
  • Ensure the school is equipped with appropriate facilities and resources for SEN students.
  • Prepare and lead SEN training sessions for teachers and teaching assistants.
  • Assess the specific educational needs of children with learning disabilities and provide recommendations for tailored support.
  • Produce regular reports on the educational progress of SEN children, communicating with senior teachers and parents.
  • Provide one-on-one teaching support to children with learning difficulties within the classroom.
  • Facilitate referrals for additional support outside of school hours, such as therapists, medical specialists, or tutors.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Additional training or certification in special educational needs coordination.
  • Experience working with children with disabilities or learning difficulties.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • A passion for creating an inclusive learning environment.
