Contract Personnel are pleased to be working with their Suffolk based client who is looking for a Coatings Technology Manager to join their team on a permanent basis.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a similar/related position and be comfortable carrying out the following job duties:

 Primary Accountabilities:

• To support the Technical & Process Development Director with materials engineering aspects of research and development programmes 

• To manage and lead research and development projects associated with new coating materials and application technologies

• To manage and lead development programmes with glass and epoxy coating material suppliers on projects aligned with the Company’s strategic plans.

• To play a leading role in the management and co-ordination of research and development projects with academic and other external partners.

• To manage the coatings team to deliver tasks and activities relating to identifying non-optimal process conditions, increasing plant efficiency, and troubleshooting any deficiencies in coatings and their respective process lines.

• The ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines.

• Open style and a team player, with initiative and drive.

• Comfortable taking a hands-on approach when required.

• A technical background in manufacturing or coatings processes is preferred, but not essential.

You may be required to carry out any other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job, as requested by the line manager.
