SEMH Teaching Assistant

Fareham

Engage Education is currently in partnership with an alternative provision which caters to boys and girls aged 7 to 16 who have social, emotional and mental health difficulties as well as other complex needs often associated with autistic spectrum conditions and learning difficulties.

The school focuses on the individual needs of each student, giving them opportunities to gain a variety of qualifications and routes to employment. They provide bespoke support, with creative learning and targeted interventions being at the forefront of their learning. It is a very calm environment, with small classroom sizes. So the ideal candidate will be someone who is happy to support within the classroom whilst providing a fun and nurturing environment.

The ideal candidate does not need to have any previous SEND experience, but must have a passion to work with children with SEMH needs. There is very little behavioural needs within this school, but many of the children have anxiety, attachment disorders and experienced previous trauma.
