Location: Felixstowe

Key Responsibilities of a HGV Technician

  • Carry out diagnostics and technical fault-finding on heavy goods vehicles
  • Specify accurate repair solutions and generate works orders
  • Conduct repairs and maintenance to VOSA standards
  • Complete time recording and job handovers accurately
  • Support the team with effective shift handover procedures

Skills and Qualifications for a HGV Technician

Essential

  • NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance
  • Proven experience as an HGV Technician or Mechanic
  • Good knowledge of VOSA requirements and MOT testers manual
  • Understanding of Operator Licence laws and regulations
  • Ability to diagnose, repair and specify technical solutions

Desirable

  • Experience with GDS and Impact systems
  • Knowledge of workshop KPIs and standard times
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
