HR Officer, County Durham

Salary circa £35,000

My client is a North East based Engineering company who have an immediate requirement for an experienced HR professional to join their team. This is a stand alone role and would suit an experienced HR candidate looking for a busy, operational, generalist HR role.

You will be responsible for delivering professional and proactive support to the company advising and feeding back on the application of its human resources function in line with the business needs. You will provide expert advice in respect of all employment related matters, and all aspects of policy application and interpretation. The role will also provide support to the company’s sister site together with the support of the wider management team. There will also be a responsibility linked to training within the business.

The main focus will be around keeping apprentices on track with work rotation, submission and generally being a mentor to them. There will be some other responsibilities around training for the wider general employee population such as booking and recording events and renewal dates.

Responsibilities will include (but not limited to):

-To ensure human resources policies are in place, legally compliant easily accessible and “user friendly” for all employees.

-To provide expert advice to the business on terms and conditions of employment.

-To maintain and continually improve employee relations.

-To manage all employee relation issues.

-To manage the recruitment process across the Company.

-Assist with employee development, team building and the apprenticeship programme.

-Provide the business with accurate human resource records, trends and reports.

-Key point of contact for the business apprenticeship partner.

-Guide, mentor and develop the training of apprentices through their apprenticeship journey.

-Support the wider training needs across the businesses working closely with department managers and other key interested parties.

-To provide effective stakeholder engagement

-To constantly review key business processes involving human resources.

Criteria:

-Educated to degree level or equivalent with professional membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and development (CIPD).

-Level 5 CIPD qualification as a minimum.

-A proven track record of strong HR generalist experience.
