Lusona is working exclusively with a leading engineering firm poised for significant growth, backed by a prestigious private equity firm. Our client is searching for a driven and accomplished Finance Director to join their senior leadership team and play a pivotal role in their exciting future.

In this role, you will:

  • Partner with the CEO and leadership team to develop and execute strategic financial initiatives, driving profitable growth
  • Lead a finance team and oversee the financial planning and budgeting process, ensuring accurate forecasts and adherence to spending plans
  • Conduct regular financial analysis, including margin analysis, variance analysis, and profitability assessments, to identify areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities
  • Manage cash flow, including forecasting, collections, and disbursements
  • Review and negotiate commercial contracts to ensure favourable financial terms and maximise margins
  • Implement strategies to improve profitability and manage costs effectively
  • Monitor and analyse variances between budget and actual performance, identifying root causes and taking corrective actions
  • Manage investor relations, maintaining strong communication and transparency with the private equity partner
  • Implement best practices in financial modelling, working capital management, and risk mitigation
  • Oversee internal controls and ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements.

You are an ideal candidate if you possess:

  • Proven experience as a Finance Director (or equivalent) in a mid-sized engineering or manufacturing firm is essential
  • Deep understanding of financial accounting principles, GAAP, and internal controls
  • Prior experience of reviewing commercial contracts
  • Expertise in financial modelling, forecasting, and valuation techniques
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, adept at building relationships with all levels of the company
  • A collaborative and results-oriented leadership style with a passion for building high-performing teams
  • Prior experience working with a private equity firm is a plus
