First Task Professional is delighted to be supporting a major contractor within the Power and Renewables sector to recruit a Business Development manager to oversee their growth within the Scottish market.

With an already enviable order book in place with yearly turnover close to 100m, you will be tasked with identifying business opportunities (projects and frameworks where relevant); qualify them for inclusion into the sales pipelines and progress them through the pipeline to tender stage. The Business Development Manager will support Directors, senior management and pre-construction teams during tender stage, positioning the business most favorably to secure projects. You will also maintain relationships with existing sector customers, identify and build new ones and work with all customers to identify where the contractor can add value by delivering more and/or new services.

Key objectives:

  • Working with the Group's Directors, and Operations Leadership, you will develop and execute strategies and tactical plans to deepen and grow potential project opportunities in the Power and Renewables industry.
  • In addition to leveraging existing relationships, the Business Development Manager will identify potential new clients and make initial contact with them / develop & build relationships that lead to requests for tender and/or project negotiation.
  • Working with the BD Director, prepare and execute an events calendar that promotes brand as a solid potential partner to clients in identified Regions and sectors.
  • You will be involved in preparing information for clients, assisting with pre-qualification and tender documentation, as well as preparing PowerPoint presentations, maintaining the SalesForce database, CRM, tenders, corporate events, sponsorship and other relevant activities as deemed appropriate. They will also undertake general market research to identify new opportunities, sharing this knowledge with the wider team in order to ensure best practice with regards to marketing and sales.

Requirements:

  • Ideally will possess previous experience operating within a similar role servicing the Power, Renewable, M&E, Civils construction or other relevant Power industries.
  • Have a well-established network of industry professionals that can assist in the business being better positioned for future growth.
  • Have familiarity with various construction services they offer
  • Salesforce or other CRM software experience
  • IT Literate in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Flexibility to travel throughout the UK to meet client demands
