We are recruiting a Legal Cashier/Accounts Assistant for a permanent opportunity with a well-regarded law firm in Glastonbury.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience and have previously worked in a similar role. You will be competent and confident enough to work both independently and as part of a team.

You will be self-motivated, have meticulous attention to detail. You will have a full understanding of the Solicitors Accounts Rules and be able to apply that knowledge to ensure Compliance of all Financial Transactions.

Your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Processing of the day-to-day cashiering
  • Operation of Company Online Banking to process the day-to-day financial transactions; for both the Client and office account;
  • Banking of receipts and taking credit card payments from clients, to include daily reconciliations and balancing of all statements/accounts
  • Client Ledger Management: to maintain accurate records in accordance with the SRA Accounts Rules, recognise and dealing with discrepancies.
  • Maintaining accounting records as required.
  • Running of and reconciling Purchase Ledger,
  • Processing and checking of Bills and Completion Statement from all departments.
  • Making payments as required both internally and externally.
  • Maintaining records and balancing Petty cash records and funding for all branches.
  • Monthly Reports - Generate (and balance) end of month financial reports.
  • Assisting the Accounts Manager with the supply of information during our Annual SAR Audit.
