Gloucester-based, service sector organisation requires a Group Accountant to take ownership for Group reporting and departmental P&Ls. A high-profile role, offering you the opportunity to work for a division of a leading PLC. There will be a focus on Excel and suitable candidates will be comfortable building relationships with stakeholders. The business offers hybrid working and a salary of up to £50,000.

Key responsibilities

• Year-end Group submissions and liaising with auditors
• Providing information to Group in relation to statutory reporting
• Preparation of group reporting, analysis and commentary for monthly packs
• P&L review and understanding reasons for variances
• Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes
• Monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Preparing prepayments, accruals, depreciation and amortisation for all Group overheads

Ideal candidate background

• A qualified accountant with experience across management and financial accounts
• Used to working across divisions and departments with a multitude of stakeholders
• Good level of proficiency in Excel
• A confident communicator who can build relationships with a variety of audiences
• Strong organisational and analytical skills
• Ability to challenge the status quo
